HOW TO SHUT DOWN A NATURIST BEACH - Guaranteed

Lately, we have been getting increased reports of inappropriate sexual behavior, i.e., solo and couple masturbation, oral sex, exhibitionism and more. Further, much of this has gone on while others watch making no attempt to stop the behavior, report it to the lifeguards or call the police.

The evidence is showing up on several porn sites. The landmark buildings and lifeguard towers in the background are very identifiable. This is BAD for Haulover Beach. If it continues, we’ll witness the closure of Haulover Beach to skinnydippers.

It is your responsibility as a user of Haulover’s Naturist Beach to practice Naturist Etiquette. If you witness inappropriate behavior and do nothing then you are guilty of participating in the closure of the beach to nude use.

If you think that this beach is guaranteed to remain a designated naturist beach, you are wrong. If you believe our neighbors living in Sunny Isles Beach or Bal Harbour are going to tolerate or ignore sexual behavior on this beach, then you are sadly mistaken.

Here are a few recent examples of nude beach closures due to complaints of overt sexual activity: all California State beaches, Lighthouse Beach National Seashore on Fire Island, New York, Big Hickory Preserve, Lee County, Florida and Mazzomanie beach (on state land) in Wisconsin.

The fear of getting involved as well as the apathy of users directly contributed to these losses by doing nothing while others participated in inappropriate sexual behavior.

SFFB has for 22 years been able to keep Haulover Beach clothing-optional by defeating anti-nudity bills in Tallahassee by claiming there is no sexual activity on the beach.  But even with our lobbyist’s help, we won’t be successful if this problem continues. (BTW, have you donated to our Political Action Fund?)

These anti-nudity bills were sponsored and promoted by well-funded national conservative/ religious/political organizations. Should they capitalize on the porn site images of sex on Haulover Beach, the door is open for a state-wide anti-nudity bill to pass in the very conservative Florida Legislature. You’ll be digging out your bathing "costume" in order to enjoy the beach.

Haulover Beach has earned a national reputation as a family friendly Naturist Beach. We are being contacted by both international and US tourists that say they would rather see the beach be closed to nude use than see the reputation of Naturism stained by the casual allowance of sexual behavior.

Florida Statute Law 800.03 & 800.04 classifies Lewd and Lascivious behavior as a Felony Offense. Upon conviction there can be a large fine and jail time of up to 15 years as well as being listed on the State and National Data Base of Sex Offenders.

SFFB policy is to have the perpetrators arrested, be at your trial and push for the maximum sentence.

Meet us at the beach by Lifeguard Tower 15. We’ll set up the Information Booth and spend some time educating you about SFFB, how to field questions, collect donations (involves begging) and sign up new members (involves twisting arms). 

You’ll also get the chance to do the "BA Stroll" with experienced BAs to get some one-on-one training on talking to people on the beach. We'll get some legal training from one of our trusty Haulover lifeguards too.

BAs are required to attend two of the four training sessions a year in order to retain your Ambassador status, so I hope you’ll be able to get the first one under your belt (I mean hat). The only other requirement we ask of our volunteers is to spend a minimum of 8 hours of BA beach time a month. BA's enjoy free parking at Haulover Park.
