Beyond the Beach:  FANTASEA CRUISE

The FantaSea Fest Cruise 2 returned to Fort Lauderdale on November 2 after an 8 day nude cruise with over 2100 well tanned and happy naturists.

The new Carnival Miracle made stops at the privately owned island of Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, Key West and Grand Turk Island. In Key West we stopped  to enjoy the famous Halloween Fantasy Fest Parade, with over 45 floats, one of which was sponsored by Bare Necessities Cruise & Travel.

The Carnival Miracle had three pools on board and the nudists covered the decks to catch the sun. Most of the passengers come from  northern climates with short summer seasons and no nude beaches. Reminds us of how lucky we are with South Florida weather and Haulover Beach.

The ship had several entertainment options at night as well as a full casino. Island stops allowed passengers a multiple of opportunities for diving trips, biking, motor scooter rentals as well as tours and of course shopping. . However the nude beach at Half Moon Cay with a beach Bar-B-Q and beach games was a favorite.

BEACHES Foundation & South Florida Free Beaches/Florida Naturist Association, along with several other nudist associations, were given the opportunity to hold table-top displays on board while at sea.

Representing BEACHES Foundation,  SFFB/FNA and the Naturist Society, Shirley & Richard Mason displayed literature and information and answered questions, particularly for those passengers that have not visited Haulover Beach. Playing the Haulover Beach DVD of the World Record Skinny-Dip at the table grabbed a lot of attention.

We met many passengers that attended the 3 day FantaSea Fest 2 Bon Voyage event held on Haulover Beach prior to the sailing. Everyone that has visited Haulover Beach were very complimentary of the efforts of both organizations in working with the park management to assure the beach is safe for visitors. The Beach Ambassador Program was praised.

If you have never been on a clothing-optional nude cruise you should put that on your bucket list for things to do before you die. The camaraderie was great and we met many old friends.

Visit www.cruisenude.com or call 1 800 743 0405 for a brochure. Remember. Life is short, play naked.

Tell them you heard about their nude cruises from Beaches  Foundation and South Florida Free Beaches. The Haulover Beach people!

Beyond the Beach: HOT SPRINGS

Casa Blanca Hot Springs
in Arizona is an example of naturist-friendly facilities that may be enjoyed au naturel off the beach and off the beaten track.

The facility offers four RV sites with electric and water, shared dump stations, two natural hot mineral water showers, tent space, the labyrinth, and a six person tub for natural soaking.

There are numerous local attractions, including Wildlife World Zoo, hockey, football, and baseball spring training stadia, petroglyphs, wild burros, nude hiking in the nearby mountains and more. Plus, the wonderful starry sky available nightly as you soak your cares away!

Your hosts, Camilla & Bill VanPenn, are SFFB members & supporters.
