Due to the popularity of the overnight New Year event, B.E.A.C.H.E.S. has submitted another overnight event for approval to the Miami-Dade Parks Department.  The event is proposed as a two-night overnight campover event.

 

 

Also anticipated in July is a reprise of the Guinness World RecordTM Skinnydip.

 

South Florida Free Beaches & B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Foundation are committed to working to obtain additional clothing-optional beach areas on the public commons in Florida.  We will continue to update you on these efforts. 

 

Shirley Mason has targetted four sites for naturist beaches, geographically spread across Florida, as part of a proposal to the state of Florida, for implementation over the next five years.  This project is currently proceeding with ongoing meetings with key government administrators and officials, including detailed presentation materials and documentation.

 

Additionally, SFFB & B.E.A.C.H.E.S. continue to work in concert with other FL groups with their own efforts with municipal & county locations, as in Delray Beach.

 

Delray Beach:

 

On Wednesday January 27th, Bruce Frendahl of SFFB & B.E.A.C.H.E.S. joined Dave Armstrong of Delray Beach Naturists in a meeting with Delray Beach Mayor McDuffie to discuss the possiblity of establishing a naturist beach there. 

 

Separate meetings are planned with the City Commissioners and local business interests.  The clothing-optional beach idea had first been raised last year at a Delray community round table discussion.  Participating at that meeting were Dave Armstrong, Shirley & Richard Mason, and Morley Schloss of the Naturist Action Committee.

 

The Naturist Society has announced that among member organizations in its Naturist Network for 2009, the largest number of TNS membership enrollments for a beach organization was from South Florida Free Beaches, while the largest number of memberships for a resort came from Sunsport Gardens in Palm Beach.
